Holiday Hints for Happiness

November 14th, 2010

Do the Ho-Ho-Holidays and Happiness ring true to you?  Over the past few years have the holidays brought you cheer?  Or anxiety, stress, dread and fear?…

Yep, the Holidays are near, they are  almost here, whether you like it or not.

Here is the list of NAUGHTY NO No’s- the culprits that create stress, and anxiety …  1)  Waiting until the last minuet to prepare for gatherings or gift giving.  2)  Attempting to do to much, and give too much. this could mean giving too much of yourself or to much monitarily.  3)  Drinking too much caffiene to counter balance giving too much of yourself.  4)  Over eating and most of all too many sweets, which creates an acid imbalance which inturn creates dis-ease…  Gathering with family and friends is what the Holidays are all about, though the demands that CAN come with the parties, gifts, baking, entertaining, family “stuff”, running around, can bring us down.  Helpful Holiday Hints- Should you choose to BE NICE to yourself…May I suggest that you, Reboost, and Re-charge by honoring yourself.

Nice not Naughty- Here is how to have Holiday Happiness~ Sprinkle a dash of lavender essential oil on your pillow.  Lavender will assist you to relax and achieve a good nights sleep .  Or you can place a drop on your wrist, in your car on a piece of cloth, or on a tissue in your pocket or purse to have handy with you to calm your nerves while in line purchasing that speacial gift for that special someone or in holiday traffic.  Valerian root is repritable for its calming, relaxing and soothing properties.  Think Peppermint for when you have over stuffed yourself, peppermint is tried-and -true to assist your bodies digestion. Another suggestion for peppermint is place a drop on your handkerchief and breath deep to eliminate the holiday head aches.

A yummy warm/hot bath with a few drops of any of the above essential oils will work wonders to take you into the Spirit of Winters Wonderland..

Keep in mind it’s not about the PRESENTS it’s about the PRESENCE…

Wishing you and yours hearT felt HAPPINESS this Holiday Season

Things that make me go——– Hmmmm….

September 19th, 2010

For my jet set friends, may I please be so bold as to suggest (with love in my heart) a sparkle of propolis or eucalyptus under your nose each and every time you choose to step into an airport and onto a plane? And, if your not to vain (to stay healthy) a bandanna or mask to cover your nose sprayed with with the antibacterial, anti fungal, antiviral agents suggested above? Yep the same one you choose to dab under your nose.
A grand gesture of respect, we can learn from the Japanese as they have been wearing masks for years when they are ailing this act in turn keeps others healthy. It works both ways, preventative measures are wise.
It’s also wise when in a giant tube with recirculated air for an extended period of time, any period of time for that matter to consider how to stay healthy. Drink lots of water, stay hydrated. I see it like this. Flying is like playing monster under the covers with 200+ people you’ve never met from all over the WORLD for hours all swapping and sharing the same the air, over and over, it’s almost personal without the bodily fluid exchange. L.O.L. Did I catch your attention? I hope so because I love YOU.
The propolis and eucalyptus kill germs as they circle under your nose before they get into your nostrils. Keep in mind propolis is a bit sticky you might want to buy a tincture which means the sticky gum of propolis is diluted with alcohol another great cleansing agent. And if the flight gets to bumpy you can drink it.. NOT.

I am happy to prepare a little cobalt blue bottle of travel spray for you and your loved ones to take on trips or in their back packs, if you wish just give me a call @ 310-880-8358
SELF HELP
* choose either Propolis tincture or Eucalyptus essential oil
* dab under each nostril when in a public space (safe for your children when at school to keep at bay the flu virus and colds) use small amounts rubbed between your fingers when not diluted
* bandito- play the roll why not its almost Halloween, wear a colorful bandanna to cover nose and mouth the bandanna acts as an extra filter, that is if your not wearing a mask. I always spray my bandanna with my chosen elixir till damp, roll it up in a ball then stuff it in my carry on before I leave the house, this way when I find my seat on the plane i pull it out bandito up and I am set and ready to go. Oh but don’t forget to sparkle the essential oil under your nose first. repeat as necessary. The bandito look will give you the privacy you always wanted on the plane no-one wants to talk to you, i cant imagine why, can you?
* wash hands and drink lots of water
Wishing you WELL

Stye in my Eye

July 25th, 2010

Why oh why do I have a stye in my eye?
I feel like I might cry
Though I don’t wish to pry
I can’t help notice you have been a wee bit pressed
Oh you say, “Stressed”.
Warm compress you must apply to the stye
You might even try a poultice o’ eyebright
Rest and consider your self blessed
Are you ready? Alright, say bye, bye to your stye
OH MY (I couldn’t help but throw that in)

You are experiencing a clog in the oil gland around the eyelashes. This little clog creates a bit of an imbalance that some may call a bacterial infection or a STYE.

Just KNOW that the stye is an expression to rid your body of unwanted “WHATEVER”. IE: stress, toxins etc…

So you ask how do I say bye, bye to my stye?

There are various natural remedies for styes. One natural and effective remedy is to apply a clean warm (not too hot keep in mind the area around your eye is quite tender) water compresses (you can use a towel or a tea bag) apply to the stye.

Hold the compress in place for as long as the heat remains in the compress.
The warmth from the compress brings your blood to the surface which in turn helps the body naturally fight off the bacteria. Repeat this process as many times as possible, at least four times a day until clog has dissipated. The heat will draw out the clog and assist in speeding up the draining/healing process.

Eyebright has also been known to be effective as a poultice. ( see my site for directions on how to make poultice)

Rest and consider yourself blessed as you have a super healthy body that is expressing and cleansing for you… whew! no need to keep it in.

Say Goodbye to the stye

DO NOT attempt to puncture stye.
